Messy, Beautiful, Mine

The Spark:
This piece came with extra chaos in the studio, my little sidekick was with me the whole way, which meant fewer progress photos and a lot more interruptions. But honestly, that feels right for this one.
The Build:
I worked it up layer by layer, letting it get busy, playful and unpredictable. Normally, I'd go back to polish every petal, refine every detail - but this time I stopped myself and I'm glad that I did.
The Shift:
It was hard to leave it intentionally unfinished. Hard to resist the urge to "fix" or neaten and make it "perfect". But that's the point, when you step back, the spark is in its imperfection.
The Message:
It's called Messy, Beautiful, Mine because that's exactly what it is. Not perfect, not polished, but full of life, love and chaos that's mine.
Whats the Specs?
This piece is 120x110cm, framed in flooded gum.
What did I watch while creating this?
I had in built entertainment with this one, the weird and whacky world of my 4th son and I learnt that I can't answer many of his questions without google.
How many hours did this take me?
114 hours
